Arrival of Vinicius Araujo and Philippe Senderos and loan of Éver Banega

Valencia CF have reached an agreement with Cruzeiro Esporte Clube for the signing of Brazilian striker Vinícius Araújo, whilst Swiss international Philippe Senderos joins the club on a free transfer. The club have also loaned out Éver Banega to Club Atlético Newell’s Old Boys through to June 30th of this year.

Vinícius Araújo

Vinícius Vasconcelos Araújo is one of the jewels in the crown of Brazilian football’s present and future, just shy of his 21st birthday. The striker arrives at Valencia CF from Cruzeiro Esporte Clube, one of the biggest teams in his homeland from which stars such as Tostao, Dirceu,  Ronaldo Nazario, Maicon, Gomes and Luisão have emerged in the past. Vinícius was born on February 22nd, 1993 in João Monlevade (Brazil), and his career so far has been resplendent with goals. He has scored 11 goals in 27 games for Cruzeiro, and has also won the Brazilian Under-20 Championship in 2012 and Brazilian Championship in 2013. Vinicus has also scored 10 goals with the Brazilian Under-20s national team this season, and won the Toulon International Tournament and Valais Youth Cup competitions in 2013 with his country.

Philippe Senderos

Philippe Sylvain Senderos, who has played for Fulham FC this season, was born in Geneva, Switzerland on February 14th, 1985. He holds ample experience in world football, having played at European giants AC Milan and Arsenal. Standing at 1.90m tall, he provides a considerable physical presence in defence. A regular for his national team, Senderos has been capped 50 times for Switzerland and scored 5 goals. A participant in the 2006 and 2010 World Cups, he has also won an FA Cup and Community Shield with Arsenal, and an Under-17s European Championship with his country.
