The tenth edition of the "Métele un gol a la pobreza" ("Score a goal against poverty") initiative is now underway. Through to the 29th of December at different sites in Valencia city, the VCF Foundation, Valencia council, MSM Valencian Institute of Creative Pedagogy, Nuevo Centro and El Corte Inglés will collect toys for young people without resources and look to raise awareness of the needs of such children amongst citizens.
With the sponsorship of Obra Social "la Caixa", the organising parties will distribute the toys to the Spanish Cancer Association, the Valencian Prader-Willi Syndrome Association, the La Aurora Early Attention trust, the Proyecto Vivir Foundation, Mamas en Acción and the Daysc Foundation.
The presentation of the tenth edition of the initiative, celebrated with the slogan "This 2014, score 10 goals!", took place this Monday afternoon. Participating were VCF player and former VCF Mestalla player Jaume Doménech; VCF Femenino player Mari Paz Vilas; ex-player at Valencia CF Ricardo Arias; VCF Foundation member and President of VCF Femenino, Salvador Belda; Valencian Sports Minister Cristóbal Grau; Director of MSM Valencian Institute of Creative Pedagogy Mar Sánchez; Director of Nuevo Centro, Alfredo Tell; Nuevo Centro Public Relations Manager David Mazcuñán; Director of El Corte Inglés at Nuevo Centro Antonio Nogales; Communications Director at El Corte Inglés, Pau Pérez Rico; and singer for group El Viaje de Elliot, Fran Roldán.
