Relive his twelve goals of the season

“This is one of the happiest days of my life. This was what I wanted" - Dani Parejo

Valencia Club de Fútbol are happy to announce to our fans that captain Daniel Parejo has reached an agreement with the Club to extend his contract, to remain at Valencia CF through to June 30th, 2020.

The player, who arrived in Valencia in 2011, expressed his happiness with the deal to VCF Radio and VCF Play. “This is one of the happiest days of my life. This was what I wanted. Everybody knew this and I was always confident that we would reach an agreement. I have always said that there is no other club at which I could be happier. I feel very happy and I identify strongly with Valencianismo; all that remains is to thank the club and the fans for their faith in me."

Parejo also gave his vision of the new project: “We have a great team and we all identify with the Club. The project is more solid every day since Peter Lim has arrived and, with Nuno as manager and the squad that we have, we can be optimistic about the future."

Valencia CF chairwoman, Lay Hoon Chan, wished to show her satisfaction with the contract extension: “Daniel is one of the best players in La Liga and has once again showed his commitment to Valencia CF. He is an excellent player, as all the fans are aware, but he is also a dedicated and responsible person. He is the kind of player we want at Valencia CF -we are very happy. Whilst we are always awaiting the arrival of new players, it is much more important when we renew the contracts of good players we already have in the squad. We are very happy that Daniel had shown this confidence in building this project alongside us."

Parejo, who is 26 years old, has played 149 games for Valencia CF and scored 29 goals. 12 of these goals came last season in the Liga BBVA, in which he was the club's top scorer and a key player as VCF clinched fourth place -and earned a spot in the UEFA Champions League qualifying stage.
