Pablo Piatti renews with Valencia CF until June 30th, 2019

Valencia Club de Fútbol have reached an agreement with Pablo Piatti for the extension of his contract until June 30th, 2019. The 26-year Argentine footballer told VCFplay and VCF Radio after the deal was reached that "today is one of the happiest days of my career and I am really motivated to continue at the club."

Piatti, a Valencia CF player since 2011, also spoke about what was required from him in order to continue at VCF: "I had to work hard; I am very happy at this club and have always conveyed this. I have a lot of affection for this club and I want to continue here. From the first moment that I was asked, I always said I wanted to stay. Fortunately, today I was able to fulfill this dream.” The Argentine sent a message for the fans that have supported him throughout his time at the club to date: "I want to thank my teammates, the coaching staff, the club and the fans, who have always been behind me," he said.

Asked about the draw in Nyon for the UEFA Champions League qualifiers on Friday, he commented that "it is very important for everyone. We know we are obliged to get through the qualifying phase and hopefully we can do so in the best way possible, to give a lot of joy to the fans."

Valencia CF chairwoman, Layhoon Chan, added that: ''Many of our fans will share my joy today. We are pleased that we have reached an agmt with piatti for another 4 seasons. He is a talented, hardworking and committed player that grows with the club in good times and bad times. We wish him all the best and we look forward to his important contributions for many seasons to come''.

Pablo Daniel Piatti joined Valencia CF in 2011/12, and since his arrival has scored 31 goals, including 14 in La Liga. He has played 164 games for the club. Piatti scored seven goals in La Liga last season and participated in a total of 30 matches.
