Voro González

Born in Alcúdia

Salvador González, better known as 'Voro', was trained in the Valencia CF academy as a central defender. In the 1983-84 season he was loaned to Tenerife –then in the Segunda División, taking advantage of his being sent there to perform military service. He stood out for his strength and aerial abilities, standing at  1.82 metres tall. Voro joined Deportivo Coruna in 1993, then moved to CD Logrones.

Whilst at Deportivo he was called up to the Spanish senior side on 9 occasions, debuting against Ireland on October 13th, 1993. He also had the opportunity to play in the 1994 World Cup, where he featured in a match against Bolivia. He finally retired from football after suffering several injuries. He currently works at Valencia CF as a delegate for the first team.
