Paco Camarasa

He was called up to the senior national team 14 times, debuting in 1993

From Rafelbunyol (Valencia) and trained at the Valencia CF academy, Paco Camarasa debuted in the first team in the 1987-88 season and retired at the club in 1999. He played as a central defender, was club captain and stood out for his effectiveness at winning the ball without conceding free kicks –only being sent off with a straight red card on 10 occasions in 12 years.

Using the number 4, Camarasa had a notable campaign in 1990, when he became a permanent fixture in the starting lineup. From 1997 he began to suffer a series of injuries that eventually affected his performance, and so spent several spells on the sidelines.

He was also called up to the senior national team 14 times, debuting in 1993.
