He rose through the ranks at Valencia CF, playing at all levels from Under-15 to Under-21 level
Born in Gran Canaria on January 8th, 1986, David Silva started playing football at UD San Fernando, a town near his village, before joining the VCF Cadete B side.
He rose through the ranks at Valencia CF, playing at all levels from Under-15 to Under-21 level. In 2004-05 he was loaned to S.D. Eibar, where he had a big role on the team and played plenty of games. The following season he was again loaned out; this time to Celta Vigo, for whom he played 31 games as a starter and featured in the Primera División for the first time.
In the 2006-07 season Silva joined the Valencia CF first team, played more La Liga minutes and scored 11 goals.
In the following seasons Silva becomes a permanent fixture in the first eleven, striking up a great rapport with David Villa. Amidst interest from many clubs, he eventually joined Manchester City in the summer of 2010.
