VCF land in the Canary Islands for Copa del Rey quarter final second leg against Las Palmas
The 21 players called up Gary Neville for the Copa del Rey quarter final second leg landed in Gran Canaria on Wednesday night. After a flight lasting nearly 3 hours, the travelling party reached Gran Canaria airport at 9:30pm local time -where they were greeted by a pleasant 20ºC temperature.
Included in the squad for Thursday's game against UD Las Palmas were Enzo Pérez and Sofiane Feghouli, returning from their respective injuries. They and their teammates were welcomed at the terminal by dozens of fans. Accompanying the players were Valencia CF chairwoman, Lay Hoon Chan, and director Kim Huat Koh.
Absent from this week's trip is Joao Cancelo, who stays behind in Valencia due to a muscle injury to his right thigh.
The tie is currently 1-1 after the first leg at Mestalla one week ago. A place in the semifinals of the Copa del Rey awaits the winners of the contest.
