VCF Mestalla best Gavà in nine-goal thriller away from home (4-5) March, 19 2017 - VCF Mestalla won a fantastic game against CF Gavà on Matchday 30 of the Segunda Division B Grupo III, outgunning their opposition 4-5 away from home. The winning goal came from Nacho Gil, deep into stoppage time. The first goal came from Gavà, who had been on a run of three consecutive wins at home. They went ahead through a Zac header from inside the six yard box.The response from VCF Mestalla came just 8 minutes later, when Quim made a solo run off a link-up between Toni Lato and Nacho Gil, eventually firing off his finish into the back of the net.The same script was followed on three occasions, as Gavà continually went ahead and VCF Mestalla immediately rallied back. After Sascha scored for Gavà, Sergio Ayala added his name to the scoresheet, and Rafa Mir did the same to answer Zac's second goal of the afternoon. Mir's goal came in the second half, after VCF Mestalla had gone 3-2 down.Coach Curro Torres made a double switch in the second period, bringing on Sito and Airdai, and it would be the latter who put his side in front for the first time in the game. Lato made an individual run from his own half, setting up Aridai for his chance; the striker made space for himself and beat goalkeeper Craviotto with his right foot.Gavà equalised just 2 minutes later, when Sascha scored his second of the game to take the score to 4-4, and the contest approached its final minutes with chances for both sides. Aridai had two good free kicks, the second of which hit the crossbar, as time ran out. There was just time for one final twist in the tale, and it was provided by Nacho Gil. VCF Mestalla moved the ball around with patience, Sito finally finding Nacho Gil to put the ball in and snatch the win for VCF Mestalla. The team remain third in the table, ahead of a huge game at the Antonio Puchades against FC Barcelona B next Saturday.
