VCF Mestalla visted Eldense on Matchday 35 of  grupo III Segunda División B.  Curro Torres‘side's determination paid dividends as Jordi Sánchez and Aridai late strikes get VCF Mestalla back to winning ways and in thick of the battle for promotion.

VCF Mestalla started on the front foot providing chances, having possession and dictating the tempo. On 4 minutes, the first chance fell to Quim who volleyed it over the bar. Seven minutes later, Rafa Mir fired over the bar.

On 17 minutes, Eldense keeper Abibi cleared the ball off the line denying VCF Mestalla the first goal. Eldense made very little inroads in the game. Their first chance came in the closing minutes of the first half through Alberto Gil who sent his effort over the crossbar with 40 minutes on the clock.

The first half finished goalless with all to play for in the second half.

VCF Mestlla came out in the second half searching for the opening goal; enjoying corner kicks and providing the chances. On 57 minutes, Curro Torres made an offensive double change; Fran Villalba and Aridai replaced Ferri and Cifu.

On 75 minutes, a delightful curling Aridai free kick rattled the bar; on 87 minutes, Jordi Sánchez broke the deadlock with only three minutes of normal time left to play. Rafa Mir wrapped up all three points for VCF Mestalla deep into stoppage time finishing off a devastating VCF Mestalla counter attack.

VCF stay third in the table and very much in the thick of the battle for promotion on 60 points ahead of hosting Badalona on Matchday 36 of Grupo III Segunda Divison B on Sunday April 30th.
