Valencia CF coach Pako Ayestarán says that the building blocks for next season are being put in place and he is happy with the progress being made.
Ayestarán talked to the press following their first training session on Monday at their Netherlands camp, with another planned for the evening. The team is due to travel back to Valencia on Tuesday with further trips to Finland and England ahead.
“The balance so far is very positive,” he said.
“There has been a magnificent attitude in the squad and we have put the bases in place for what Valencia CF can become. What has pleased me most has been the effort shown by the players and the worst bit was the first half in Germany.
“What you are looking for at this stage of the preseason is the work-rate of the players and that the work each day is carried out. As much as possible I try and concern myself with the footballer and the person. I am happy with the signings and I am convinced that they will be a boost.”
