Greetings to all fans of Valencia around the world. My name is Ademir, I'm 26 and I come from a small town by the name of Žepče in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
I become a fan of Valencia as a child. It was 1996 years when I was only six years old. That year Valencia bought from Padova, Goran Vlaović and I became a fan of Valencia.
As a child I watched La Liga on HRT3 (Croatian National Television) whose commentators constantly praised performances by Vlaović playing for Valencia. At that time Vlaović was my favourite footballer and because of him as a child I started to follow matches of Valencia. Years later, my love for Valencia has grown and I stayed true to the club when Goran Vlaović went from Valencia to Greece.
It is true that I was quite sad, but I loved other players of that era such as El Piojo, Miroslav Djukic, Ilie etc. Being a fan of Valencia in Bosnia is not easy. Most of my classmates support Real Madrid, Barcelona and some English clubs, while I was the only fan of Valencia. However, the fact that I was a fan of Valencia made me proud. I purchased jerseys of Valencia and with pride I wore them with the names of Mendieta, Lopez, Kily... on the back.
I remember it all very well when Valencia played the Champions League finals against Real Madrid and Bayern Munich. The defeat of Real Madrid in Paris was somehow easier to take, probably because that match went on to end 3-0. The defeat in the final against Bayern was definitely for me very painful and hurt me. The moment when Pellegrini missed a penalty caused tears on my face. However, there were also many beautiful things that I have experienced as a fan of Valencia. We won the Copa del Rey in 1999, then the era of Rafa Benitez and through to winning Copa del Rey 2008.
In 2010, when both, David Villa and David Silva left Valencia, I decided to start a web site www.valencia-balkan.net. My wish was that in one place fans of Valencia from the Balkans could link up and I think I have succeeded. I wanted in this way to show that in the Balkans there are people whose hearts beat for Valencia CF. Our site and fan club Valencia Balkan has been running now for six years.
Along with me, also working actively on the website are Marko Martić from Mostar (BiH), Deni Kablinović from Zenica (BiH) and Arsen Hrsum from Rogatica (Bosnia). Occasionally we have the help of other fans of Valencia such as Ivan from Zagreb, Samed from Gradačac..etc. On our site every day we write the latest news about Valencia that we get from the Spanish media. On our website we also have a forum and a download zone with the anthem of Valencia. As a fan club, we have a good relationship with the other fan clubs of Valencia, especially with Valencia-Slovenia led by Nejc Fir.
My personal wish is that one day I’ll come to the Mestalla, because I have never watched a match in Valencia, and that is what I wish truly from my heart. I hope that one day I’ll come to Mestalla, and I believe for sure in advance that this would be the happiest day in my whole life.
I expect good results this season from Valencia. I'm glad that Pako Ayestarán stayed as our coach. I am also very happy that Luis Nani has signed for Valencia, he' s a great player.
I believe with all of my heart that Valencia will return next season to the Champions League because realistically that is where they belong.
¡Sempre València Amunt!
