VCF Official Statement | Mario Suárez

Valencia Club de Fútbol have reached an agreement with Watford Football Club to sign player Mario Suárez on loan through to June 30th, 2017. The deal includes an option to buy the player.

Born on February 24th, 1987, Mario Suárez has been capped three times by Spain and has won La Liga, the Copa del Rey, Spanish Supercopa, UEFA Europa League and European Super Cup (twice).

Debuting in the 2005/2006 campaign with Atletico Madrid –for whom he played four games-, Suárez was loaned to Real Valladolid. After winning the Segunda División title with the club, he signed a permanent contract with Real Valladolid and had subsequent spells at Celta Vigo and Real Mallorca.

Returning to the Spanish capital, Suárez would spend five consecutive seasons at Atletico Madrid, adding six trophies to his resumé. Following 189 appearances in La Liga, he signed for Fiorentina for the 2015/16 season, playing nine games in Serie A before being sold to Watford FC in the winter transfer window. He joins Valencia CF on loan after playing 17 times for the Premier League club.
