VCF Femenino continue 100% record with 4-0 win over Fundación Albacete

Septiembre, 24 2016 -

Mari Paz and Szymanowski, with doubles apiece, seal another victory

VCF Femenino took their third consecutive victory in the Iberdrola Primera División Femenina RFEF, beating Fundación Albacete 4-0 at the Estadio Antonio Puchades. Szymanowski and Mari Paz scored respective doubles in the comprehensive home win.

The first chance of the match went to VCF Femenino, with Débora G forcing a save from the opposition goalkeeper. She received excellent service throughout the game from Mari Paz and Szymanowski, leading to multiple opportunities for her, Carol and Mari Paz.

Cristian Toro's side went ahead through Mari Paz after 13 minutes of play, as she was picked out by Joyce to push the ball into the net.

An audacious attempted lob from Mari Paz almost doubled her tally on 16 minutes, although the effort could not quite beat the goalkeeper. The VCF women continued to push and create chances, and they would finally make it 2-0 thanks to Szymanowski's second league goal; 29 minutes in, Débora G left her marker behind and played the ball to her teammate in the six yard box.

The scoreline was increased to 3-0 before half time, as Mari Paz converted a penalty that she herself had won. VCF Femenino were comfortable going into the break, with a strong advantage.

The second half began with another opportunity, when Mari Paz found herself one-on-one with the goalkeeper on 48 minutes. Whilst she would not be able to find the net for her hat trick, that and a Carol shot provided a further demonstration of the team's dominance.

Fundación Albacete looked to attack down the right wing in response, but without much joy. The win for VCF Femenino was put beyond all doubt with just over half an hour remaining, as Szymanowski bagged her second goal of the match and made it 4-0.

The game wound down with a slightly lower intensity, as Cristian Toro's side enjoyed sporadic chances and were able to keep their shape. With 3 wins from as many matches, 11 goals in their favour and still to concede in the Liga Iberdola, VCF Femenino are one of the teams of the moment in Spanish women's football.
