Still-undefeated VCF Femenino held to goalless draw by Real Betis Féminas October, 12 2016 - VCF Femenino were held to a 0-0 draw by Real Betis Féminas on Matchday 6 of the Iberdrola Primera División Femenina RFEF, despite enjoying the better of the chances in the game. The Valencia CF women's team remain undefeated so far this season, dropping points for only the second time. The home side were well organised in defence and played deep at the back, inviting VCF Femenino on. However, Cristian Toro's side lacked effectiveness in the final third and were unable to open up the defensive line. Their most promising opportunities came from counterattacks and set pieces, and the best chance of the game was that of Mari Paz; the prolific striker, who had claimed the winning goal against UD Tacuense the previous Sunday, met a cross from Aedo on the right in the 29th minute and forced an athletic save from the Betis goalkeeper to keep out her header.Following a goalless first half, the second period began with the same dynamic. VCF Femenino controlled possession but were unable to finish off their chances, and the pace of the contest slowed down due to constant interruptions. Neither team were able to break the deadlock before the final whistle, and Valencia CF left the Ciudad Deportiva Luis del Sol with a point -albeit still to concede a goal in 2016/17. Next up on the calendar for VCF Femenino is a fixture this Sunday at home against Athletic Club. Copyright 2013-2016 Valencia Club De Fútbol.
