VCF Femenino climb up to third place in Liga Iberdrola

Febrero, 12 2017 -

Marta Perió, Paula Nicart and Mari Paz with a brace were the scorers for VCF Femenino

VCF Femenino registered the same scoreline in the first term of the season at home. Cristian Toro’s side move up to third place with 37 points, one more than Levante UD Femenino on Matchday 18 of La liga Iberdrola.

VCF Femenino ran out onto the pitch at the Ciudad Deportiva Andrés Iniesta fully focused and committed and on 15 minutes, VCF Femenino had three successive clear-cut chances to open the scoring through Débora García and Mari Paz. Later on in the game, the ball movement was not accurate enough as Fundación Albacete pushed VCF Femenino on the back foot, slotting through balls and exploiting the gaps.

The team talk at half time buoyed VCF Femenino. They had a strong start dominating the game, moving the ball about, providing more depth and settling VCF Femenino into the game. On 52 minutes,Marta Peiró opened the scoring for VCF Femenino collecting Elena’s block following a Mari Paz header.

On 57 minutes,Mari Paz got the second goal of the game and the 13th to her name. Following a good run down the left wing-which Mari Paz finished off. Later on, in the 63rd minute,Joyce galloped down the left flank again and pulled it back into Mari Paz who scored the third for VCF Femenino from twelve yards out. Despite the deficit-Fundación Albacete never backed down and tested Elner on few occasions, but Elner was equal to them.

In the closing minutes of the game, VCF Femenino got the last goal of the game from a corner kick. Up popped Paula Nicart at the far post to beat Elena. Debora García came close to scoring what could have been the fifth of the game as she had rattled the bar minutes earlier.

VCF Femenino claimed all three points with a resounding 0-4 away victory over Fundación Albacete.
