VCF Femenino best KE Oiartzun 3-0 at Antonio Puchades March, 26 2017 - A brace from Mari Paz just before half time, and an Aedo strike early in the second half, took VCF Femenino to victory in their Matchday 23 game in the Iberdrola Primera División Femenina RFEF. The latest win for the Valencia CF women’s team keeps them in third place in the table, with 52 points to their name. It was not until halfway through the first half that VCF Femenino enjoyed their first clear opportunity –an Aedo cross that Mari Paz almost got on the end of in front of goal. That formula paid off as halftime closed in, however, as another ball in from the Japanese was met by VCF Femenino’s top markswoman. She converted past the KE Oiartzun goalkeeper to open the scoring on 41 minutes. After the first goal, a second followed swiftly. After the referee had awarded a penalty, Mari Paz stepped up and slotted the ball home to complete her brace –taking her to 23 goals for the season. Aedo completed the scoring on 56 minutes, when Joyce Magalhaes sent a ball in for her to put in. With the score at 3-0, VCF Femenino were comfortably ahead going into the final half hour. Coach Cristian Toro decided to take off Mari Paz and Cintia Montagut 20 minutes before time, bringing on Maya Yamamoto and Salo Navalón in their place. Yamamoto nearly found the net on 77 minutes, when Karol Ferez played a neat backheeled pass to her but her shot crashed into a defender. The final score was a resounding 3-0 to VCF Femenino, who kept yet another clean sheet after conceding a solitary goal last weekend against Athletic Club.
