VCFF get back to winning ways in goal-fest against Real Sociedad (0-4) May, 14 2017 - Mari Paz, N. Gaitán, M. Peiró and Leles were the scorers Valencia CF Femenino faced their last away game of the Iberdrola Primera División Femenina RFEF season on Sunday, 14th of May, 2017, at 4:15pm, against Real Sociedad at Zubieta, on Matchday 29 of the season, with both teams already in the hat for the Copa de S.M. la Reina. VCFF got off to a fast start in the game; the first attack came inside the first minute of play when Joyce swung in a teasing ball across the face of goal that was comfortably claimed by Cornejo. Eight minutes later, Mari Paz Villas tried her luck with a fine effort on the turn, but it was saved by the keeper. A minute later, Mari Paz was flagged up for offside following a great Claudia Zornoza forward pass behind the Real Sociedad defence. On 14 minutes, Carol Férez fired over from long range. Five minutes later, Mari Paz Villas nodded dangerous ball wide. On 27 minutes Claudia Zornoza navigated her way towards goal but her drive went over the crossbar. Ten minutes later, Carol Férez failed to wrap her foot around the ball and her effort went wide. Two minutes later, Yanara had an effort partly blocked by a defender making the save relatively easy for the keeper. The most promising chance for VCFF came with two minutes of the first half left to play after great link up play between Carol Férez and Mari Paz, who fired her effort into the side netting. The first half finished goalless with nothing to separate the sides and all to play for in the second half. VCFF got off to a bright start after the break, and three minutes into the second half Joyce found herself standing in the way of a great header from a teammate and the ball bounced off her when it looked like it was on its way into the back of the net. Two minutes later, Carol Férez crashed her bending effort into the crossbar. A minute later, Joyce’s effort went a whisker wide. On 53 minutes, VCFF’s leading goalscorer broke the deadlock with a brilliant standing header at the far post after an inch-perfect Aedo cross from the right. Just over the hour mark in the game, Bannini hit the left upright on her first kick of the ball. Five minutes later, Mari Paz Villas hit the angle on the turn from outside the area. On 75 minutes, Natalia Gaitán doubled the lead for VCFF following another Aedo teasing ball into the box that was helped on by Mari Paz Villas, putting it on a plate for Gaitan, who headed it home. Ten minutes later, Marta Peiró made it three for VCFF; she took up Natalia Gaitán’s invitation to head it in following an inch-perfect Gaitán cross from the left. Leles completed the scoreline after a sparkling VCFF counter-attack deep into stoppage time, beating the keeper from close range by placing the ball just inside the far post to wrap up all three points for VCFF in style. VCFF got back to winning ways with a comprehensive 0-4 away win over Real Sociedad ahead of hosting Rayo Vallecano in their final game of the season.
