Valencia CF Femenino, third in the table and the least goals conceded

Valencia CF Femenino rounded off a record league season with a 4-1 win at home against Rayo Vallecano on Matchday 30 of the Iberdrola Primera División Femenina RFEF. The Valencianistas, coached for the last time in the league by Cristian Toro, finish the season in third on 68 points, having only conceded 11 goals, the fewest in the division. The blanquinegras, who have qualified for the Copa de S.M. la Reina, have had their best season since being founded in 2009 with a record of 20 wins, 8 draws, and 2 defeats.

The Valencianistas went into the game looking to finish off the league season in style, and they got off to a great start with a goal on the 5th minute from Mari Paz. Rayo Vallecano were awarded a penalty in the 17th minute, and it was put away by Natalia, levelling the score at 1-1.

VCFF were in charge of the game and created various chances, especially with shots from the edge of the box and set-pieces. In fact, it was from a corner that Nicart rose above the defence to head Valencia CF Femenino back into the lead (2-1). The blanquinegras took the 2-1 lead into the break.

The Valencianistas started the second half much as they had ended the first, dictating the tempo and looking to increase the lead. Débora G. made it 3-1 on the 57th minute, hitting the ball sweetly past the Rayo ‘keeper. Cristian Toro made some changes to bring on fresh legs, bringing on Carol, Szymanowski and M. Peiró for Gio Carreras, Banini and Aedo.

The cherry was put on top by Mari Paz with her 28th goal of the league season; an acrobatic finish which made it 4-1 to VCFF.

Valencia CF Femenino bid farewell to the league season with a win in front of their fans, and now await the draw for the Copa de S.M. la Reina.
