In Bilbao in search of three points

Valencia CF aim to convert their good performances going forward in the opening matches of the season into points when they take on Athletic Bilbao on Sunday from 4.15pm.

An 18-man squad are already in the Basque city, having arrived Saturday evening, with Jaume Domenech returning after injury. They are without Enzo Pérez, who still travelled despite his ban, and injured pair Mat Ryan and Ezequiel Garay.

The players went straight from Bilbao airport to their hotel and the expedition as usual is accompanied by director Kim Huat Koh and club advisor Juan Cruz Sol.

It is set to be fresher weather  for the clash on Sunday, than the match last weekend at Mestalla against Real Betis, with 17 degrees the temperature the day beforehand. Valencia face an Athletic side that won their last LaLiga game but were beaten in the Europa League by Sassuolo last Thursday.
