Valencia CF captain Enzo Pérez returned from suspension to lead the team to victory against Deportivo Alavés on Thursday night. The Argentine was elated after the game, as he explained in the mixed zone.
“I am here to help the team, and I always put the team before my own needs. I always want to be competitive. The important thing is that we have picked up three points and lifted ourselves off the bottom of the table. We are all very happy and hoarse from shouting with joy -we offloaded some anxiety tonight. A coaching staff that taught us all a lot have had to leave, but these are circumstances that happen in football. I didn't want to look when the penalty was being taken."
