This Friday saw the presentation of the Virtual Football Organization (VFO), the first professional virtual football competition in Spain, sponsored by EA SPORTS FIFA. The event took place at the main Arena of Barcelona Games World.
The arrival of the VFO has been long awaited, and is an 11 vs. 11 competition as part of the Pro Clubs mode on EA SPORTS FIFA. Valencia CF confirmed the creation of a new team, as well as their participation in the VFO, on Friday.
One of the new captains for the team, Havel, was given his official shirt at the event. Following a selection process, his teammates on Valencia CF eSports in VFO will be named in January of 2017.
The VFO is the first competition to bring together three worlds in one: The greatest spectacle on earth (football), the new eSports phenomenon and the largest community of gamers in Spain –players of EA SPORTS FIFA.
YouTuber Toniemcee was the master of ceremonias at the event and revealed more details about the first professional virtual football league sponsored by EA SPORTS (Electronic Arts), which will get underway in January 2017. Captains of participating clubs, celebrities, youtubers, specialist e-Sports and sporting press, and representatives of comercial brands were all in attendance.
THE FIRST VIRTUAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE WITH OFFICIAL FOOTBALL CLUBS, PROFESSIONAL CLUBS AND AMATEUR TEAMS
The VFO is the first virtual football league to feature the participation of:
> Football Clubs: The virtual football section of Spain’s professional football teams.
>Professional Clubs: Professional eSports clubs such as x6tence and clubs for comercial brands, such as Philips Hue, which will be able to create their own teams to compete against official and amateur clubs.
>Amateur Clubs: Clubs made up of EA SPORTS FIFA players who sign up for the VFO and create their own team, with which to rise through the divisions and compete against the giants of the competition.
THE ONLY LEAGUE IN WHICH PLAYERS CAN COMPETE AGAINST THEIR FAVOURITE FOOTBALL TEAM AND END UP JOINING THEM
As in all professional leagues there is organisation, divisions, rules, standings, calendars etc. Each team has a captain who represents and manages the team, there are stages of the year dedicated signings and transfers, and the competition includes prizes, sponsors and fame. Sponsors and professional clubs invest in the competition and their teams in order to maintain their excellence.
