The individual champion of the regional sport will be in attendance for Valencia CF’s latest LaLiga contest
Valencian pilota player Francesc Xavier Puchol Catalunya ‘Puchol II’, who this past Sunday was crowned champion of the ‘Individual d Escala i Corda’ competition in Pelayo after defeating Soro III, will take the ceremonial kick-off for Valencia CF’s game against Granada at Mestalla. A renowned Valencianista, he will receive a tribute from the club before the LaLiga Matchday 11 game.
The sport of Valencian pilota (‘Pilota Valenciana’ in the regional language) is a traditional handball game still popular today. 25-year-old Puchol II’s victory last weekend was his first in the prestigious ‘Campionat Individual Professional d’Escala i Corda Bankia-Trofeu President de la Generalitat Valenciana’.
