Curro Torres: “I don’t focus on the results –I focus on the day to day”

VCF Mestalla coach Curro Torres spoke to VCF Radio on Tuesday afternoon, to chat about the excellent form the second team are in. Following their victory against Hércules this past weekend, the side are closing in on the leaders in the Segunda División B Grupo III.

“Everything is different when you get the three points. We always keep our feet on the ground.Sunday’s game has been and gone, and we’re already preparing the next one,” he explained to the club’s official radio station.
“We’ve been working to get a good feeling back, because we’ve spent the last month dealing with players moving around and the transfer market –which was maybe too much of a distraction and didn’t let us perform as we are used to doing.

“I’ve been immensely lucky to have a great team of coaches around me and a splendid group of players. They work very hard to improve and have a lot of hunger to achieve things. They make us enjoy everything. I don’t focus on the results; I focus on the day to day. I think we should be happy with the team,” Torres continued.

Although VCF Mestalla have been giving plenty of joy to Valencianistas, their coach is aware that the focus should lie with the first team as a priority.

“We’re very happy that people can be pleased with the team. But we should be clear that what is important is the first team, with whom we all identify. The players all work to get up to the first team, and what we want is that the first team serve as a reference point, and that this good feeling is picked up to end the season in the best way,” he said.
