Orellana: "Valencia CF opened the door for me, and I'm very grateful for that"

A new arrival on loan at Valencia CF in the winter transfer window, Fabian Orellana has been adjusting well to life at the club. The Chilean has made an impact and shown his versatility in his appearances so far, and believes that the team are on the right path towards further improvement before the end of the campaign.

"My teammates are working hard every day to turn the situation around. It hasn't been easy, with everything that's happened at the club, but the players here work day after day to get out of this situation and get Valencia CF back up at the top of the table," he told VCF Radio on Wednesday.

"The team have some very good players. In the squad there are players who are play well with the ball at their feet, and we link up very well. Then we have each other's help defensively."

"I think I've played rather well, but I did so with the help of the team. We played very well the other day (against Real Betis), even though we weren't able to win. The point is going to help us," he added.

"We've got five games coming up that are very difficult. We have to face them with a lot of strength and try to do the best we can. We need to try for as many points as possible, so as to lift ourselves above the bottom sides and get excited about chasing higher positions."

Despite his short time spent at the club so far, Orellana is convinced already that he made the right choice coming to Valencia CF.

"Valencia CF opened the door for me, and I'm very grateful for that. The situation isn't good, and people asked why I would come here, but I said I was going to take a gamble and I hope it works out well. I think it will."
