Chairwoman Layhoon Chan and local government figure Monica Oltra see Escoles Cor Blanquinegre initiative first-hand

The pair  visited the VCF Foundation project at Colonia San Vicente Ferrer youth centre in Burjassot

Valencia CF chairwoman Layhoon Chan and Mónica Oltra, vice president of the Generalitat Valenciana government and member of its Equality Commission, visited the Colonia San Vicente Ferrer youth centre in Burjassot on Tuesday afternoon. They did so to see firsthand the work done by the VCF Foundation’s ‘Escoles Cor Blanquinegre’ project at the centre.
The project is directed at the teaching staff of certain schools and youth centres, located in neighborhoods of Valencia and the surrounding area with difficult social circumstances.

Mónica Oltra and Layhoon Chan, accompanied by patrons of the VCF Foundation Kim Huat Koh and José Luis Zaragosí, spent time with the 80 residents at the centre -14 of which are part of the Escoles Cor Blanquinegre. They were also given a tour of the facilities and watched the training of the team made up of the 14 members of the school, and handed out footballs signed by the Valencia CF squad.

At the moment there are 12 Escoles Cor Blanquinegre. The initiative was started in October of 2015 with the collaboration of the VCF Footballers Association. Since then, with weekly training with a strong educational profile, the VCF Foundation have aimed to make Valencia CF available to those responsible as a training, social and sporting tool to encourage around 250 young people in their day to day lives -and help them in their personal, educational and community progress.
