Voro: “Our target is to extend our home winning streak to four games”

Valencia CF coach Voro González looked ahead to Saturday’s game against Sporting Gijon in his pre-match press conference. Despite the lowly position of VCF’s Matchday 27 opponents in the table, he explained that his players will not be dropping their guard.

“The aim is to win tomorrow’s game, and do things well so that we continue in the same way. We have the home factor, having won our recent games there. We need the victory –above all after losing against Atletico Madrid. We have one vision, although we know how tough our opposition are and there are no easy games. The aim is to win, we won’t lose hope and our target is to extend our run to four wins at home,” he told journalists on Friday.

“Sporting are in need of points, are organised, play good football and have deserved more points recently than they have on the board,” Voro continued. “We know that it won’t be an easy game –there are no easy games. We aren’t going to look at it as a simple game because of Sporting’s position in the table.”

The game at Mestalla kicks off at 1pm local time. Valencia CF won the first meeting between the sides this term 2-1 at El Molinon.
