VCF Mestalla take on league leaders FC Barcelona B on Matchday 31

LaLiga action may be taking a break for international fixtures, but the Segunda División B season continues uninterrupted this weekend with its 31st matchday. The most enticing encounter of the latest round of fixtures comes on Saturday, when VCF Mestalla take on FC Barcelona B at the Estadio Antonio Puchades.

VCF Mestalla come into the game off the back of a valuable victory away from home against Gavà last weekend, in a fantastic 4-5 thriller won by a late Nacho Gil goal. The Valencia CF second team are currently third in the table with 54 points, and are one of the top sides at home this season -losing only 1 of their 14 games on home soil. They are chasing a tenth game unbeaten at the Antonio Puchades, and are currently third in the table.

FC Barcelona B ran out comfortable 4-0 winners at home to Llagostera on Matchday 30. The Catalan side continue to lead the way in the Segunda División B Grupo III, for the fifteenth consecutive matchday, with 60 points. However, their advantage is just 2 points over Alcoyano and 6 over VCF Mestalla.

The two sides met earlier this season at the Mini Estadi, with FC Barcelona B winning 3-1 in a tight game.

Coach Curro Torres has just two absentees this weekend: Antonio Sivera's late call-up for the Spanish Under-21s side means the goalkeeper is unavailable for club action and Ivan Zotko who is also away on international action with Ukraine U21 Barça B will be without Carles Aleña through suspension.

The game kicks at the Antonio Puchades kicks off at 6pm on Sunday
