VCF Femenino players Salo, Leles and Zornoza, accompanied by first team coach Cristian Toro, his assistant, Jesús Oliva, and president Salvador Belda, attended the headquarters of the Agrupació de Penyes Valencianistes on Thursday. There, they were given a warm welcome and encouraged for their derby this weekend against Levante UD Femenino –which takes place at Mestalla for the first time in history. The players were given a golden insignia by the supporters group association, and invited fans to attend the game –entry for which is free of charge.
“We hope to do our best, and above all that the fans enjoy themselves. I hope that they see that women’s football is worth watching,” commented Zornoza. “The secret to our success is that there are a lot of good people getting behind this team,” explained Toro. “They are fighting to represent the club, and when a lot of good energy comes together, good things happen.”
“It’s exciting to be playing a derby, but to do so at Mestalla makes it even more of a thrill,” added Leles. VCF Femenino play Levante UD Femenino on Sunday at 12pm local time.
