Press Conference with Voro to preview the Malaga CF match

The Valencia coach, Voro, was at the media centre to preview Saturday’s match against Malaga CF at the Rosaleda, which kicks off at 1pm. The coach said that “the team are improving, especially defensively, and are on good form. The team want to compete, the players are switched on and they’re training well.”

He was keen to point out that while the group are looking to get the best possible results from the last six games of the season, “the players are fully focused on Saturday’s match; we have to take it one game at a time. We want to keep on winning games and picking up points, but we shouldn’t look any further than Saturday’s game. The game against Malaga is the first of three games in a short space of time, and it’s the most important right now.”

When asked whether he might rotate the squad for the game, the coach responded that while eight players are a yellow away from suspension, everyone is ready to compete and do their bit for the team, making him optimistic for the three upcoming games.

With regards to players with injury concerns, Voro informed the journalists that José Luis Gayà has a hamstring strain and wouldn’t be rushed back before he was completely ready. “We’re not in a rush, and we have good cover in his position. We want him to return as soon as possible but when he’s ready.” He added that Nani was now back in full training and “would be ready to give his quality and good performances to the team when called upon.”

When asked about how Valencia would deal with Saturday’s opposition, Voro stated that “We’ve been preparing well for the game against Malaga, they have a lot of strengths. We know they have a strong midfield, but we’ve been working to deal with their strong points all over the pitch.”
