A win at Mestalla would guarantee a place in the play-offs

6pm kick-off time at Mestalla

For the first time this season the temple of Mestalla will host VCF Mestalla, who have the chance to seal their place in the play-offs against Badalona with two games of the fixture list still to be played. It’s without doubt the big game of Matchday 36 in Group III of Segunda División B between the teams in third and fourth place in the table. The game kicks off at 6pm on Sunday, 30th of April at the Valencia CF stadium.

Curro Torres’ side go into the game well aware that the win is crucial if they want to make it into the play-offs with two games to go, and what better place to do it than at Mestalla, where the players know that that the fans will turn out in big numbers to support them and celebrate getting into the play-off stage of the season.

As far as CF Badalona are concerned, they come into the game on the back of a loss to Llagostera (0-1). However, in the first half of the season they were able to beat the Valencia CF “B” team 2-0, surely a source of motivation for the Blanquinegros to try to get their revenge. It’s going to be tough but VCF Mestalla are having an excellent season, they need to show why they are the team with the third fewest losses in the division and also one of the strongest sides at home, with only two home defeats all season.

For this challenge, Curro Torres has a fully fit squad to choose from, the only player missing is Quim Araujo who is suspended for the game. Goalkeeper Antonio Sivera is back to full fitness and goes straight into the Matchday squad. Badalona also have one player out suspended, defender Aleix Coch.
