VCF Mestalla, just two points away from sealing their spot in the play-offs for promotion to LaLiga 1|2|3

They can ensure their place in play-offs in this Sunday’s 6pm kick-off away at Lleida Esportiu

VCF Mestalla have another chance to ensure their deserved place in the play-offs for promotion to Segunda A. Curro Torres’ side travel to Lleida to take on Lleida Esportiu in the Camp d’Esports on Sunday at 6pm, in an important game on Matchday 37 of Segunda B Grupo III.

After an intense season, VCF Mestalla are looking to cement third place in the table, where they have sat for over 10 games, and book their ticket for the play-offs. There’s no doubt that the squad deserve it; they have been competitive and solid from the very beginning of the season.

The blanquinegro “B” Team are more aware than ever of the importance of this game. There are only two matches left; this is the penultimate step towards achieving their aim. Curro Torres’ team are third in the table on 61 points and can boast one of the best goalscoring records in the division, 55 goals scored in 36 games.

Meanwhile, Lleida Esportiu are seventh in the table on 54 points and are in the race for fourth position. The Valencianistas will have to work hard to get the win at Camp d’Esports, as they face a team with one of the strongest home records in the division; Lleida Esportiu have only lost twice at home this season. They’ve gathered a head of steam during the season and are now one of the division’s in-form teams.

In terms of the squad, Curro Torres has all his players available for selection, as there are no suspensions for this game. Quim is back in midfield, which is good news for the team. Lleida Esportiu will be missing striker Javi Casares due to suspension.

This game is like a final for two rivals at the top end of the table in the hunt for a play-off spot. However, Curro Torres’ side have it in their own hands, two points from their last two matches would guarantee third place in the table.
