Ezequiel Garay scored two “centre forward’s” goals

By the 21st minute Valencia CF were knocking on the door and creating danger in the CA Osasuna area. The first goal, which was coming, came from a set-piece from Dani Parejo which was cleared by the opposition defence as far as the edge of the box, where Cancelo was waiting. The Portuguese player’s header fell at Nani’s feet, who crossed a low ball to the back post. Garay slid in to meet the cross and steer it into the back of the net. But one goal wasn’t enough for the Argentine, who made it 2-0 on the stroke of half-time. The blanquinegros had won possession in the midfield, and Gayà latched onto the loose ball, playing it up to the edge of the area where Zaza was well positioned on the shoulder of the last defender. Simone passed inside to Garay, who was lurking on the penalty spot, and the centre-back finished with the accuracy of a no.9, making it impossible for Sirigu to stop. These two goals, which Garay dedicated to his wife, take him to four for the season; the brace against the team from Navarra, and goals against Deportivo de la Coruña and Real Betis.
