VCF Mestalla look to seal third spot against CE L’Hospitalet before the play-offs for promotion to la Liga 1|2|3 begin

The B team will play the last regular season game at Mestalla (6pm kick-off) with free entry for fans

VCF Mestalla play their last game of the Segunda B Group III regular season at 6pm on Sunday at Mestalla, in a game where the two sides have very different motivations to win. While the Valencianista B team want to seal third place, the Catalans are playing to avoid relegation.

Entry is free for the match, so a big attendance is expected at Mestalla to support Curro Torres’ lads before the start of the knock-out rounds for promotion to la Liga 1|2|3.

Now that they have sealed their spot in the play-offs, VCF Mestalla want to win the last game of the regular season and make sure of third place which is under threat from Badalona, who are currently fourth in the table. The blanquinegros really deserve to come third after all the good work they’ve done this season; they’re on 62 points with 16 wins, 14 draws and just 7 defeats.

However, they’ll be up against CE L´Hospitalet, who have to win to have any chance of staying up. They’re currently in 17th position on 38 points, meaning they’ll need to beat VCF Mestalla and wait on the Atlético Levante result, who are in 16th on 39 points and face Badalona at home, the team who want to beat the blanquinegros to the third spot.

For this match at Mestalla, Curro Torres will be missing Rafa Mir, who is out due to suspension. Goalkeeper Antonio Sivera will be back after returning from a knock. The opposition, CE L’Hospitalet, have no suspended players.

VCF Mestalla have already beaten CE L’Hospitalet this season, winning the game at the Feixa Larga stadium 1-2. Curro Torres’ side have a strong home record, with only two losses in eighteen games so far this season.
