Curro Torres:“Real Murcia are a tough opposition”

VCF Mestalla's head coach highlights the great potential in the opposition but praising the level of his players

VCF Mestalla's head coach highlights the great potential in the opposition, Real Murcia, VCF Mestalla’s next opposition in the next round of the promotion play-offs.

"They are  a tough opposition, their squad  is made to fight for promotion to Segunda A with a city behind them, a great stadium, they’re one of those sides we must take into account and we have to respect them.

We’re going to keep being ourselves like the whole season, playing every game as a final and this upcoming tie begins this Sunday at Mestalla.  We did it against Celta B and it turned out fine. We aren’t thinking further ahead of the home leg. It’s our philosophy, working every day, each training session to be competitive in every game.

We’re going to fight full on to keep the tie alive and have our chances in the second leg to keep fighting in the play-offs for promotion.

“They’re on a good run of play and results and besides, they have a good head coach who knows the league. It’s going to be a tight game with both sides having their ideas. The key to the game is staying very alert, very focused to make no mistakes, because any mistake as little as it may be can knock you out of the promotion play-offs.

Playing the first leg at Mestalla is neither an advantage nor a disadvantage, this is how things go, and we knew the second leg would be away from home a long time ago.  It’s helpless to have a great first leg and then going down in the second leg.

We set the limits to ourselves and these players have shown they have no limits. I’m very proud of them for their fighting spirit and commitment from the start of the season. As I said after the game against Celta B we want to enjoy ourselves on the pitch and  keep on doing what we do best”.
