Valencia CF open their second Academy in the USA, in Miami

Valencia CF are continuing their international expansion with the opening of a new Academy in Miami, the second in the USA after the recent opening of the VCF Academy in New York. Managed in conjunction with Plus Sports Management, the Academy will have facilities at various locations in the Miami area: Pembroke Pines, Deerfield Beach, Lighthouse Point, Sunny Isles Beach, and Florida International University´s Biscayne Bay Campus. Further locations will soon be added.

The new Academy, as well as offering training sessions based on the Valencia CF methodology and led by coaches brought over to the USA from the Valencia CF Academy, will offer different camps, clinics, educational courses for coaches and an annual tournament for teams from all over the state of Florida. The first try-outs for boys and girls from the ages of 6 to 17 are already being held, and will run through to the end of June; it’s predicted that over 500 players will take part.

This VCF Academy in Miami, as well as the previously mentioned one in New York, is a continuation of the Club’s international development, which aims to promote the Valencianista brand around the world.

The official launch of this new Academy took place today (Friday, June 9th) at 4pm local time at Florida International University´s Biscayne Bay Campus, which will be one of the Academy facility locations. The presentation was presided over by former head coach and Valencia CF legend Voro González, who stated that “the Club are very committed to the Valencia CF Academy in Miami offering the highest quality football education in the whole of Florida. We’re convinced that we’re going to be leaders in football in the area, offering the methodology which has made Valencia CF’s youth system one of the most renowned around the world.”

The Valencia CF Director of Marketing, Damià Vidagany, explained the reasons for opening this Academy in Florida: “We’ve chosen to come here because Miami, and Florida in general, is a strategic area in the USA. What’s more, for us it all fits in perfectly with the presence of our partner BLU, who have made us even more excited and determined to develop a great project here in Miami, where beIN SPORTS also have their American headquarters. For us, the fact that these two great companies are here with us today as sponsors at the opening of the Academy is a real source of pride, we’re one big family. This programme is part of an exchange which will bring local kids and teens closer to not only Valencian football, but also the region's culture”.

Samuel Ohev-Zion, CEO of Valencia CF’s new main sponsor, BLU Bold Like Us, made sure he didn’t miss this event which was held in the city where his company headquarters are located. He pointed out that “it’s very important for BLU that Valencia CF have more and more international exposure, and this type of project is key to the process of internationalisation.”

Plus Sports, Valencia CF’s partner in this initiative, said that they are “delighted to be able to announce this agreement, one which allows us to establish links between Valencia CF and South Florida. We want to offer a quality programme which ensures a comprehensive football education for the players, coaches and parents of Miami Dade and Broward Country, through methods which have been developed by the Valencia CF coaches who will be coming here from this summer onwards. It’s very important to create links through a real connection with a Club as prestigious as Valencia CF. This is part of an exchange programme which will bring local kids and teens closer to not only Valencian football, but also the region's culture”.

Many parents who were interested in the programme attended the event, along with their children, as well as Valencia CF fans, members of the Valencianista Supporters’ Club in Florida, and other Club collaborators such as head of beIN SPORTS in Miami, Antonio Briceñom, and representatives from the Miami Chamber of Commerce and Florida International University.
