VCF Mestalla face the first part of their final battle for promotion to LaLiga 1|2|3

The game will be broadcast live on VCF Radio (101.5 FM) and Gol.

VCF Mestalla can take their first big step towards promotion to LaLiga 1|2|3 on Saturday. After knocking out Celta B in the first round and Real Murcia in the second, Curro Torres’ side now go into the first leg of the third and final round of the play-offs. The first game of the final is a 7pm kick-off at Mestalla against Albacete Balompié. The fans will have a big part to play in the tie and a big attendance is expected at the Blanquinegro ground.

The Valencianistas have been recording great stats in the play-off phase of the season; they’re the only team to have finished third in their group who are still alive, and they haven’t lost a single game. What’s more, they are the top scorers in the play-offs, with 8 goals in 4 games. These results show that VCF Mestalla are one of the in-form teams in the division, and they’re now just two games away from achieving their aim of going up.

The opposition in the final game, Albacete, got through after knocking out Atlético Balears, a tight affair that José Manuel Aira’s side won in extra-time of the second leg at their Carlos Belmonte ground. Curro Torres will be well aware of the strengths of an Albacete team who won Segunda B Group II and have their sights firmly set on promotion.

VCF Mestalla don’t have any players out suspended, so they’ll only be missing Sergio Ayala due to injury. Albacete have important players Dani Rodríguez and José Carnicer out suspended.

This will be the third and final game that the B team play at Mestalla; it’s a great opportunity for the team to put themselves in the lead so that they can go into the second leg with the advantage and keep their dream of promotion to Segunda alive. If they do manage to go up it will be a much deserved reward for a record-breaking team. The Valencianista fans are expected to create a big atmosphere at Mestalla in a game which will be broadcast live on VCF Radio (101.5 FM) and Gol.
