This Sunday at 8:30pm, they’ll have to come back from the 0-1 result in the 1st leg at Mestalla
The second leg of the third and final round of the play-offs has arrived for VCF Mestalla, who have promotion to the second division at stake. The big match against Albacete Balompié kicks off at 8:30pm on Saturday at the Carlos Belmonte stadium, and the team will be backed by an impressive and historic away support of almost 1200 fans.
VCF Mestalla are going to Albacete in search of the win and they’ll be doing everything possible to come back in the tie after the result in the 1st leg (0-1). The B team have proven throughout the season that they perform best under pressure. Curro Torres’ side are the leading scorers in the play-offs and the only 3rd placed team left in the promotion race.
José Manuel Aira’s Albacete Balompié know that they can’t afford to be over-complacent and the coach said as much in his press conference after the 1st leg in Valencia. His team will be doing everything they can to defend the lead they took from Mestalla. Albacete got through to the play-off final by knocking out Atlético Baleares in extra-time (2-1).
Nacho Gil won’t be available for this important and decisive game due to suspension; Carlos Delgado will be missing for Albacete for the same reason. Javi Noblejas is still injured after having to be taken off in the 1st leg, although Albacete welcome back Dani Rodríguez and Fran Carnicer from suspension.
