The VCF Mestalla head coach speaks from the heart after drawing away at Albacete
Curro Torres, VCF Mestalla head coach, spoke from the heart at the Carlos Belmonte, after the 0-0 draw away at Albacete Balompié, a result which meant the Blanquinegros couldn’t quite achieve their dream of promotion to LaLiga 1|2|3
“Sometimes in football you don’t get what your work deserves. But I think the fact that we got as far as we did is something to be happy about. Of course, at the moment we’re gutted. The lads have put everything they had into this. But it wasn’t to be. We had our chances to get the goal in the second half, a goal which I think would have changed the game. But it just wasn’t to be.
I’m so grateful. I think our supporters are the best in Spain and they’ve been right behind us. The work the lads have put in has meant that we’ve forged a connection with the fans, and then the team have tried to repay them with the work they do and the effort they put in every day. I’m really grateful, it’s not easy to get so many people coming to support the B team and we managed to do it. I hope that this is now going to mean that the lads will keep on feeling that support, because they deserve it.”
