VCF's pre-season kick on (0-3)

July, 13 2017 -

VCF prevailed over SCP by (0-3).Thanks to goals from Orellana,Rodrigo and Nacho Gil

The Valencianista side were looking to kick on in their pre-season claiming back-to back pre-season wins. VCF took on Sporting Clube Portugal one of the biggest sides in Portugal. VCF starting eleven Jaume (who would make way for Sivera minutes before the half-time whistle ), Nacho Vidal, Javi Jiménez, Garay, Lato, Nando, Eugeni, Parejo, Orellana, Negredo and Rodrigo.

The opening minutes saw a tight game under blustery conditions which was making the link-up play difficult. The first meaningful chance fell to Eugeni who crashed his long-range effort into the upright. Later on, Orellana and Negredo tried their luck from in front of goal but the keeper was equal to it.

Halfway through the first half Orellana collected the ball and stabbed home from close range with an unstoppable drive. Minutes later, Rodrigo nodded home a delightful Nando cross from the right to double VCF’s lead in the game.

Marcelino’s side had a great first-half performance with a comfortable two goal lead over the opposition at the break and keeping a clean sheet.

Marcelino shuffled the starting eleven in the second half Sivera in goal who made way for Neto), Montoya, Vezo, Abdennour, Centelles, Nacho Gil, Medrán, Maksimovic, Santi Mina, Zaza and Rafa Mir. VCF were off to a similar start in the second half with both sides trying to control the midfield area and providing dangerous chances and knocking the ball behind the opposition’s backline.

Zaza came close to scoring a goal but failed to wrap his foot around the ball and went wide. Nacho Gil completed the scoreline with a magnificent solo move nutmeging the defender and finishing it off with a sweet right-footer inside the far post; an absolute wonder goal to clinch back-to-back pre-season wins and clean sheets to finish their pre-season in France on a high.
