VCF edge AFC Bournemouth with an Orellana wonder goal (0-1)

Julio, 30 2017 -

Marcelino’s side put in a solid performance at the Vitality Stadium

VCF claimed their fourth pre-season win edging AFC Bournemouth by 0-1 thanks to an Orellana wonder goal from outside the area in what was a fine and solid performance by VCF which were well-positioned on the pitch to keep their fourth pre-season clean sheet.

VCF were off to a good start in the game well-positioned on the pitch and giving no chances to the opposition. Marcelino’s side were on the front foot with Rodrigo providing an outlet down the flank. The most meaningful chance in the first half fell to Javi Jiménez with a powerful header that went whistling over the bar.

The half finished 0-0 with all to play for in the second half.

Marcelino shuffled the team at the break but the same script followed in the second half with VCF dictating the tempo and providing menace. On 57 minutes, Santi Mina, robbed the ball off and tested the keeper from long range.  Impact substitute Orellana, broke the deadlock with 20 minutes of normal time left to play with a magnificent curling effort from outside the area into the top corner.

The scoreline remained unchanged and VCF claimed their fourth pre-season win and fourth pre-season clean sheet.
