VCF drew away at Levante UD in a hard-fought game at the Ciutat de Valencia. VCF are still unbeaten in LaLiga despite having more clear-cut chances than the opposition and dictating the tempo for the majority of the game, they only managed to add a point to tally. Rodrigo’s opener was cancelled out in the closing minutes of the first half and despite persevering in the second half, the scoreline remained unchanged.
VCF were aware that it was not going to be an easy game. The game saw a midfield battle and a cagey start in the opening minutes with both sides trying to get a foothold in the game. VCF were pressing high up the field and tracking back quickly trying to break down the UD Levante backline.
The first chance fell to Carlos Soler who navigated his way with a blistering run from the flank but he did not manage to beat Rúben. Persistence paid dividends as Murillo played a long ball into Rodrigo who contolled the ball and played it wide into Pereira who picked him out and delivered a magnificent ball back into Rodrigo who nodded it home to put VCF in front. Both sides exchanged blows in an all-action spell. VCF could have stretched their lead following a double Mina chance that hit the bar and Carlos Soler, whose follow up shot was cleared off the line by Rubén.
Bardhi pulled it back level with a powerful long range snapshot inside the post following a Murillo clearance. The first half finished locked together at 1-1.
VCF tried to stamp their authority in the second half and Rodrigo came close to scoring in style after a great run on the break that he tried to finish off chipping it past the keeper following a lovely Parejo long ball. The second half saw a quiet spell.
Guedes and Zaza came on in the second half and they provided more menace up front. Guedes enjoyed two chances from outside the area. Later on Soler hit a venomous curling shot that went wide and then a cross-strike that went wide. The Italian striker enjoyed the last meaningful chance of the game for VCF firing over from long range.
Neither side were able to claim bragging rights and the game finished honours even at 1-1. VCF keep their unbeaten run going after claiming a point away at Levante UD.
