"We can hold our heads high, we put in a hard shift"

Gayà

"The team gave it everything we had on the pitch, I think everybody could see that. From the very beginning we went out with a clear game plan that we followed, to keep it tight at the back, and be as compact as possible, and then try to hit them on the break.

We knew we needed to keep it tight, especially at the start, but then they scored. The team reacted really well to that though, and I think this is a good point at such a difficult ground to come to, not many teams pick up points here. We can hold our heads high because we put in a hard shift.

We knew it was a tough set of fixtures at the start of the season, but we believe in the work we’re doing with the gaffer and I think the work we’re doing is showing through on the pitch. We’ve got to keep on working, we’re right at the beginning of this, but we need to keep on going with this ambition and enthusiasm and we’ll have a good year.

Murillo and Kondogbia both had really good games. They worked really hard, the whole team did, so we’re happy with this draw, but there’s still a lot of hard work to do.

There were a lot of fans up there in the stands, this point is also for them. I think they enjoyed the game, both teams played well and it was a good game to watch, and I think we’re satisfied with the performance."
