What it feels to be part of Valencia CF in its purest state at the last goodbye to Jaume Orti

Valencia CF, together with Orti’s family

All those connected to Valencia took part in a memorial service this Saturday. Old club chiefs, employees, those who have a history with the club, fans… Valencia CF had a strong presence at the farewell for former president Jaume Orti, whose funeral will take place this Sunday. Anil Murthy will play a role in those proceedings, before the chance to give one last huge farewell will arise before and during the club’s upcoming game against FC Barcelona.

On this first day of goodbyes, the first-team squad were represented by a delegation made up of the captains; Dani Parejo, Jose Gaya, Jaume Domenech and Rodrigo Moreno, as well as Marcelino and Voro. They went along to pay respects to Orti at a morgue within the city, alongside advisors Juan Sol and Auxiliadora Borja, general director Mateu Alemany and club ambassadors Ricardo Arias and Miguel Tendillo - as well as many employees past and present.

The huge amount of care that the club’s former president had shared with everyone in years gone by was reflected on Friday, when the tragic news of Jaume Orti’s passing sparked unanimous messages of condolences from the world of football, as well as from Valencia fans who loved, admired and respected him. He will always be present in the hearts of those who support the club.
