Zaza: “On Saturday we must all be one at Mestalla, as we have been so far”

Valencia CF's Italian striker calls for unity among Sunday's disappointment

Simone Zaza, as well as the rest of the squad, left Sunday’s game against Getafe feeling hurt, but nothing can change the past now. The Italian striker had a few headed chances in Madrid, which all flew wide of the target, but more importantly the team in general were unable to pick up a result. Now, the focus moves to Saturday’s game against Celta Vigo (20:45CET).

“It wasn’t the result that we wanted, but from now we have to be thinking about next weekend. Everyone must be as one at home, as we have been so far,” Zaza reasoned, while leaving Coliseum Alfonso Pérez.

He was clearly conscious of maintaining the chemistry between the team and the players, with that link adding something to their efforts this season. The fans are enjoying themselves hugely, just as the players are on the pitch, and their support from even the street outside Mestalla helps to give the team a lift during difficult moments.

We’re stronger together! The collective comes before the individual in Valencia’s dressing room, and the bond between the players and the fans has been impossible to break during a fantastic start to the campaign. So far, at home, we have recorded five wins and two draws in our seven home fixtures. As Zaza says, after our first LaLiga defeat we must stick together and fight for all three points against Celta.
