Celta Vigo are Dani Parejo’s favourite team to play against

La Celeste are the opponent that the Valencia CF midfielder has scored most against as a professional

There are a lot of reason for Valencia’s squad to be motivated heading into the weekend’s game against Celta Vigo, with proving that their defeat against Getafe was just an anomaly definitely among them. Dani Parejo, the club’s leader in central midfield, has a track record of enjoying himself against Saturday’s opponents, too.

In the 11 games that Parejo has played against Celta, the Valencia midfielder has scored six goals, making the Galician side his most regular victim. With his head, from free kicks or the penalty spot, or with his right foot, VCF’s number 10 has found the back of the net in every which way possible. This Saturday, he will attempt to aid the team once again, with both his general play and potential goals. His best figures against Celta came back on the 7th November 2015, where Valencia won 5-1 in Balaidos and Parejo netted a brace.

Parejo is one of the top-scoring central midfielders in LaLiga, as shown by his 40 goals in 259 top-flight games, with 38 of those coming while wearing a Valencia shirt. Celta have conceded the most against him (6), with Real Madrid following up closely behind with five.

This season, Parejo already has three goals to his name (two in the league and one in the Copa del Rey), with Athletic Club, Leganes and Real Zaragoza the teams on the receiving end. Can he do the same at Mestalla on Saturday?
