Valencia CF look to win the XXII LaLiga Promises International Tournament in Arona (Tenerife)

Sesderma, new shirt sponsor for the VCF Academy, makes its debut with a final against FC Barcelona (9pm CET)

Valencia CF, wearing the logo of Sesderma on their shirts, play tonight (9pm CET) against FC Barcelona in the final of the XXII LaLiga Promises International Tournament in Arona (Tenerife), a trophy they won in 2014. The players, coached by Toni López, have grown in this competition and achieved their objective after beating Borussia Dortmund in the quarter finals on Thursday and RCD Espanyol in the semis on Friday.

Finding themselves in Group D, the tournament didn’t begin the way Valencia CF had hoped, losing 3-2 to Real Madrid with a brace from Andrés Fernández. But the Valencia team reacted well, beating the Japanese side JEF United 4-1 with goals from Ivan Vilar (2), Bruno and Marc Abril and then defeating Inter Milan 0-3 with strikes from Ivan Vilar, twice, and Alejandro Silva.

In the quarter finals they faced Borussia Dortmund, beating them 1-0 thanks to an opportunistic strike from Andrés Fernández, and on Friday they knocked out Espanyol in the semi finals, with another narrow victory (1-0), thanks to a brilliant goal from Aarón Martín.

The Valencia CF squad that travelled to Arona (Tenerife) is led by the director of the VCF Academy Luis Vicente Mateo and made up of the following players: Vicent Abril, Aaron Martín, Yarek Gasiorowski, Juan Carlos Sabater, Alberto Calatrava, Iván Vilar, Bruno Calcagno, Marc Abril, Andrés Fernández, Alejandro Silva, Carlos Igual and Jorge González. The coaching staff are made up of coach Toni López, assistant Javier Hurtado, co-ordinator Sergio Ventosa and physio Alberto López.

Sesderma, the best possible debut

The arrival of multi-national skincare manufacturer Sesderma as a shirt sponsor for the Valencia CF Academy couldn’t have come at a better time. Supporting the club for the next two years as a “Premium Plus” sponsor, both brands are aiming to boost their international growth, and that process has already begun with the prestigious LaLiga Promises Tournament in Arona (Tenerife). Now, let’s win the final.
