The centre-back captained Holland at the 2017 European Championships

The Valencia CF Women’s team has added the left-footed centre back Mandy van den Berg to its Liga Iberdrola squad. She captained the Dutch National Team which won the European Championships in 2017, held in the Netherlands, and also played in the World Cup in 2015, held in Canada. Overall, Mandy has 90 caps for her country at 27 years of age.

The defender is noted for her positioning, strength, ball-playing ability and long-range passing, as well as for her heading and aerial threat from set pieces.

The player began her career at ADO Den Haag, a First Division club in Holland, where she won the league and cup. From there she left for the Swedish league, to play for Vittjsö. The player also has experience in the Women’s Champions League, after her time at Lillestrom SK in Norway, where she won the league and cup.
