Carlos Soler returned to the action, while Guedes was replaced due a muscular complaint

Carlos Soler returned to the match day squad this weekend, and went on to play his first league game since Valencia CF’s 2-1 win over Celta Vigo back on December 9th. After spraining his ankle following a tough tackle against Getafe CF, Marcelino had explained before this Saturday that he wasn’t ready to start, but he warmed up during the first half and was then introduced after the break. Goncalo Guedes was the man that took his leave.

Guedes remained in the dressing room after the half-time break, due to some muscular problems. It meant that after 48 days of recovery, Carlos Soler was back out on the Mestalla turf once again. He played on the right flank, as always, helping to create chances and retain possession with an impressive pass completion percentage of 92.3%.
