The reliability of Rodrigo

He is the only Valencia CF player to feature in all nine games in 2018

Rodrigo Moreno is enjoying his best season since signing for Valencia CF, which is not only being reflecting in figures such as his 12 goals and five assists, but also how he is feeling about himself. The striker has been picked in recent national team squads, with the 2018 World Cup in Russia approaching. From the first day of Marcelino’s reign, he became a much more vital part of the first team’s plans and during the new year he has taken part in all nine matches that Valencia CF have played.

This Sunday, Valencia CF are playing at the Wanda Metropolitano against Atletico Madrid, and Rodrigo will be looking to keep helping the team by posting up more goals and assists. Until this weekend, Atleti have been one of the teams that have still managed to avoid falling victim to the Spaniard, as he has played versus Diego Simeone’s team on six occasion and is yet to score. Through hard work, respect, humility and consistency, however, Valencia CF will be confident of facing up to the task ahead.

Marcelino has picked Rodrigo in the starting line up in six of the nine games in 2018, and in two of the three games where he came off the bench (UD Las Palmas and Deportivo Alaves) he scored. Despite having some impressive individual stats this campaign, Rodrigo always puts the needs of the team ahead of his own, and he will be looking to do just that when Valencia CF look to end Atleti’s unbeaten record in LaLiga at their new stadium.
